hi-dr.blog is backafter a break for the holidays and hoops games-i have the following observations of the sports-world

[1] the bcs games were great---they did a better job than most of us thought!!!

[2] a personal congrats to garrett tuggle,a local linebacker from foothill hs and chabot jc

[3] a personal congrats to my old coaching buddie b knight---who did it his way---

[4] a personal loss---i will miss a nice youngman,and a good ebal player-c higgins

[5] the raydars win are in the super bowl every 7yrs-its almost time---and the raider job is a good job

the following thoughts are flowing through the caverns of the right lobe of my cerebral cortex--translated-i am thinking

[1] lew wolff the As owner,and Jonh Chambers of Cisco have formulated a partnership that will take baseball well into the 21st century in both technology and fan entertainment-- think about this-----you will be able to keep score on a laptop[acquired at Cisco field] capture a special play,AND SHOW IT TO ANYBODY THE NEXT DAY,while showing the E-scorebook to the person you are showing the play to!!i know little about technology but this sounds like you will be able to save great moments at the park[aka cisco field]

[2]after sunday nite football with J.MADDEN--iturn off football--sorry he is the best and monday nite is just eat leftovers and go to bed early!!!!

[3]Damon BRUCE--sportstalk knbr-is a STAR here is why-----he likes hoops,and the hoosiers traditions,--he knows his stuff[not as much as the great 1-dr.b-but he is an outsider[not a player in the sports sense of the word,he knows about the inner structures of teams--he is insightfull and a little "WHOP BOB ALOOBA A WHOP BAM BOOM--a little edge---he is always prepared,and having his MOM on for the football picks was SOLID!!!! i have hot met him, but i will confire "KNIGHTHOOD"[no pun intended bobby]on SIR DAMON


[4]look for a bay-area professional team[hint-lets hope a done-leavey deal is not foyled] to have a higher phone bill this month because of increased calling to area code 310

[5]i am "jacked" about bay area hoops ---no great college teams but a lot of good ones[cal] ,usf[the school where i spent some great years coaching] HAS TALENT but NOT A TEAM YET--

  Since i have been away to a once in a lifetime experience with the
Madden family to Coach Maddens induction into the Haii of Fame in
Canto,Ohio,i realize what a "GOOD MAN" Coach Madden is[i will always call
him coach],and what a Real/Genuine person he and his family are and how
lucky we are to have them in our community!!!!!
   Other thoughts from dr.b:[1] here is the formula for the As success
                                SDS= Starter,Duchscherer,Street=WINS
                            [2] Lew Wolff,take alook at the property at
                                the intersection of Gibralter and Hacienda
                            [3] dont expect a blog soon,i will be going to
                                my goddaughters wedding[its a biggie]so i
                                might be a little incoherant for a while
                                and the next day a go to the mountains to
                                camp out for 8 horrible days,i might not
                                make it back!!!!!

yes,dr.b[dr.blog]is back and is going to inform you on MM[march
madness],dont worry dr.b will do a blog on the whole S issue in time for
the begining of basaeball season,but now on to hoops!!!
    [1]generally the 2006 ncaa will be going pretty much to form-not many
upsets
    [2]the strongest conferences are in this order 1big east 2big 10,3the
big12,4]the top of the acc,5] the top of thepac10.
    [3]armed with this info-the final4,will include ucla,ohio state,and 2
others that you canfigure out.

hi fans,dr.blog is back after a month break from my blog for cleaning my
estate ,getting it ready for the hlidays.here is dr.b,s want list from
s.clause: [1]good health for everbody!
          [2]peace on earth and good will among all humanoids
          [3]please keep all our young people safe,and keep their interest
in sports alive,and with them for the rest of their lives.
          [4]that all pro,college, and high school teams will be here next
year.
          [5]that all athletes who play on team,will play within the
context of the team,and thoes that play individual sports will play with
toughness,and class
          [6]i,tired-that i will be here next year to see if these wishes
have come true!!!

dr.b with the passing of Bill King a real friend,sportsfan,and a huge part
of my sports life and all those who spent time relieving the daily stress
of life in the bay area,a final "holy toledo" Bill,where ever you
are!!Some random Bill King thoughts:
   one nite in the early 1970,s i was coaching at USF,and i rememder
driving on the Nimitz and i saw BIll on the side of the freeway with his
old convertable and i gave him a ride to the Warriors office in the Arena
in Oakland.We talked about old "clunkers" that we hade owned and how we
named them ,no basketball,just Clunkers.
   another time i ran into BILL at "spring training",this time we talked
about my former St. Marys Gael teammate,and BILLs good friend Tom
Meschery and how much Bill was impressed with his literary,and history
skills,or as we called him the Mad Ruskie.
   Bill is a HALL of FAMER both in the booth and out of it,and all of us
will have a little less "KING CULTURE" and the games will go on but they
wont be the same-HO-LY TO-LE-DO!!!!!

        [1]Dr.B suffered a "near-death" experience while attempting to use
a"self-serve" vacume to clean my car for a very special date!!While
Vacuming the front seat with what i call "THE BIG SUCKER",as i brought
the big-boy across the front console,THE BIG SUCKER picked [sucked up]the
Cassette Tapes in my console[B.B.KING,T-BONE WALKER,LITTLE RICHARD]I
immediately went into a DEFENSIVE/AGGRESSIVE mode,trying to save my
tapes.I also was useing "COLORFULL-LANGUAGE!!The other patrons were
enjoying my battle with the BIG-BAD SUCKER.THIS machine really is THE
GODZILLA SUCKER,the SUCKING caused my tapes to look like speghitti,and
nearly ate the plastic cassette case,not to mention my hand!!After this
historic battle[jcaesar never had one this tough],i was "SHAKEN"but
"RALLIED" to have a GREAT[and i mean GREAT]TIME on my date????

     Iapologize for not "blogging" for a week but i have been under a lot
of stress-here is a list of the items that have caused me "mega Tensions":
     [1]i have been working on some Great New LETS
        TALK SPORTS SHOWS lately[have you seen my new RAYDAR special,soon
to be finished 49er special,and historical baseball specials from the
Copperstown exhibit.
     [2] learning new skills st tv30-being a Teleprompter operator[it only
lasted 30 seconds due to the fact that the Mouse was a Right-handed mouse
and i am Left-handed.

             [a]his 3 highest paid players have been out for most of the
season
             [b]half of his pitching staff are under 30
             [c]they are only 7 games out in the loss colume and have many
games left with the weak division
teams!!

          [2]How about the TRI - VALLEY BABE RUTH team in the World
SERIES,they are coached by Frank Knox-nice job!!

          [3]A.WARD, completely outclassed hie last foe-look for him to be
a Main Eventer soon with top
billing!!

dr.blog speakes,i am going on "vacation"??-it is not a vacation in the real
sense,but a matter of "survival". Iam not mr.OUTDOORS !! i am a City
person[give me the 3 C,s:CITIES,CEMENT,and CRIME,and i can survive,BUT when
i go to the MTS.,i have severe problems.WHY have i done this for over 30yrs?
  [1]my adopted Family
  [2]No one will take me anywhere else[i dont know why?]
  [3]the lights are on but nobody,s at home!!
Here are some of the larger towns we visit-have you heard of these BIGGIES?
CLIO,[pop 81+14 dogs and cats and visiting bears] SLATTERY,[no living
humans known to have been seen there],Bassetts,[great apple pie],etc.I

NOTHING[just dont get hurt]ALEX SMITH IS GOOD,THE GIANTS ARE NOT OUT OF

            [1] A.SMITH of your 49ers is one of the most accurate passers i
have seen,case in point. On thursday 8-4-05 I made my 1st. appearance at
49er camp.I was on the near sideline in a controlled scrimmage,and Mr.
Smith did the following [the play and ball came directlly at me
!]:Battle#83 ran a deep out12-15yds,he was covered by the corner on the
outside, and the safety on the inside,the potential for a pass completion
was between 12-18inches,Mr. Smith,UNDER PRESSURE fired a tight spiral,with
a flickof his wrist-AMASING ACCURACY!!
             [2]Mr. Smith has Great PHERIPHAL VISION!!
              MR.SMITH WILL MAKE IT BIG!!

              Today i want to take a break from sports and look at the word
Freeway!I the 3rd. worst driver in the world have in my travels observed
the following:[1]the freeways are not FREE-the come from our fuel taxes and
we are not free to drive on them because of congestion [2]they are not Ways
because there is no WAY to go because of congestion.therefore i suggest[at
least in ca.]we call them Congestionways

            [1]I would to congratulate K Brown of Portlands KATU,ch.2,being
named the 1st female sports director of a top 25 major market area
station!! nice going,she askes the tough ?s and is on her game .She is a
former dr.blog protige,and i would call her fiesty!!!!
           [2]Boxing fans keep your calendar open in the 3rd week in August
for A.Ward to fight locally,and look for A.Wards talented stablemate
A.Johnson[147 lbs],to possibly appear also!
           [3]Whats up with the womens BB coaches at Santa Clara and the
womens team. AD Dan Coonan is a good man who supports Every sport and will
get this taken care of quickly!

early in the game won it for the AL[nice play by Miggy]
[2]nice effort by both managers to get every player in and try to
win the game.
[3]in the HR derby monday the balls were either put in the freezer
the nite before,or were a little smaller[remember MLB maker a special ball
for the event]
[4]H.STREET will be huge the 2nd half

dr.b speaks,here is a little bloggology for today!! 
   this is a random list of people who i would pay to see,some of
these individuials are the best in both taem and individual
events,[best=championships won and star-quality].
   Basketball= M.Jordan [Russell won but not like Mr. Jordan] 
   Boxing    = Sugar Ray Robinson [not even close-how dare mr.lenoard
use his moniker-walker smith was Mr. Robinsons given name]-PS check
his wins and KO ratio.
   Golf     = i know very little about,but here is an educated guess!
Mr.T.Woods,and Miss M.Wei.[sorry jack,arnie,ben, not enough
competition in the era you played]
   Baseball=2 catagories Hitter=Ted Williams[forget the 6years he lost
look at his Ave.,and his Power numbers, Pitcher Mr. S Paige,no won
really knows how many games he won or lost,But he pitched for over 30
years,made the negroe leagues popular,Won 14 games for the world
champs[Indians],stuckout B.Ruth,T.Williams,and more ,pitched in the
Bigs at age 63?,and thats good enough for me.
   Hockey = Mr. W Gretsky [thats why he uses my name,the great 1] 
   Track/Field= Mr.I DONT KNOW-Too many to list 
   Swimming  =I cannot Blog on something i cant do!!
